Birchby Doubles Up With Aces

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Chris Birchby jammed for 450,000 from middle position and received a call from the player in the hijack. The rest of the table folded and the cards went on their backs.

Chris Birchby: A?A?
Opponent: A?J?

Birchby's opponent would flop a jack on K?J?2?, but there was little sweat for Birchby when he made a flush on the 6?8? runout for a complete double-up.

Liang Hits An Apparent Miracle Ace on the River

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Mike Liang
Mike Liang

A player raised from late position to 80,000 only to see Michael Liang three-bet jam 925,000 from the cutoff. The button and blinds got out of the way before the original raiser snap-called to set up a runout with Liang at risk.

Michael Liang: A?9?
Late Position: J?J?

The 7?10?6? flop was safe for the player holding jacks and the 3? on the turn didn't change anything either, but when the A? fell on the river, Liang doubled to almost 2,000,000 chips.

As the pot was collected and pushed to Liang, the big blind said, "I had an ace, too. If you didn't shove, I would have" to which the small blind responded, "I had one too!", making it apparent that Liang had spiked a one outer to survive and double into a massive stack.

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Robbi Jade Lew
Robbi Jade Lew

Robbi Jade Lew pushed her final 250,000 chips in from under the gun and the action folded to the player in the small blind. He made the call with a stack of 290,000 and the big blind got out of the way.

Robbi Jade Lew: A?K?
Opponent: 6?6?

It was looking like Lew would be eliminated when the flop came 5?2?7?, but the K? turn made her a pair higher than the sixes of her opponent. The 8? river remained clean for her as well, and she doubled up to an around-average stack, while her opponent was left with one big blind.

Plante Wins A Flip to Double

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

A player in middle position raised to 60,000. Action folded around to Santiago Plante in the big blind who slid forward 560,000 in what was basically an all in three-bet, but being on a pay jump, he had held back a 5,000 chip as a card protector.

The middle position player jammed and Plante entered a short tank to try and allow a bust out to take place to guarantee himself the ladder in payouts. After a couple of minutes, he put the last chip in and the cards were turned over before heading to a runout.

Santiago Plante: 7?7?
Middle Position: A?9?

The board ran out 6?8?2?10?J?, keeping Plante in the lead as he doubles to over a million in chips.
